DOMAIN BOARD.

The Domain ffbard met this afternoon : present— Messrs H. P. Murray-Avndey (chairman), H. G. Ell, M.H.R., W. Jacques and S. A. Staples, Mr JUI stated that five 1 ?eats for the 'Domain had been received' from Messrs J. and A. Anderson and two aore were to come. The seats seemed very satisfactory and were appreciated by tie pubho. The chairman stated that a resident had requested that a big'bluegum tree cldse to theTticcarton Hotel should be cut down, as it shaded the road. Previously, when the tree had been marlsed for felling, residents had asked that it should bo left. Mr Jacques said -that the tree waa a promdnent knd-ranrk. He moved that the matter sihotild be left over until the Board visited the spot. It was deqided to pay over tho Board's contribution of £20 towards the work A letter was received from the Modlal Yaoh't Club, stating that it had been resolved' to contribute £3 10s towards the cost of cleaning and levelling Victoria Lake, provided the Board and the Acbljmatitation Society would' provide similar amounts It waa decided that the Board would let out the lake, but was not" prepared to accept the plub's offer. Mr Ell said that the attention of the City Council shouldi be called to the state of the paths in the Domain. These paths" were üb?4 nwre by Christchuroh residents than by anyone else, and were in a very bad , condition.
