EXPULSION OF A JOURNALIST.

ST PETERSBURG, May 31.
M. Plehve. has informed Sir Charles 8, Scott, British Ambassador that the "Times" correspondent was expelled because the tone of his correspondence and the " Times' " attitude generally w«re hostile. He further added that he was aware his action would provoke a great outburst against Russia, but he ims determined to read the "Times" «, lesson.
(Ti;e Russian Government ordered the St Peteraburg correspondent of th«" Tinges" to quit Russian, territory at a dfif* notice, which was extended to three days at the British Ambassador'^ instance.)
