WESTMINSTER ABBEY GLEE AND CONCERT PARTY.
On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings the Westminster. Abbey Glee and Concert Party ■will make its appearance in Ghristchurch at the Canterbury Hall. The party! which is under the direction of Mr Edward Bramscombe, is composed of members of* the celebrated Abbey Choir, supplemented by some of the leading singers who formed; the Coronation Choir on August 9 lastj Its personnel is as follows • — Madame Marie Hooton, concert contralto; Masters Alfred Boughton, Leonard Hubbard, Horace Marchant and Reginald Hyde, soprano boys ; Mr Percy Coward, male alto;. Mr Edward Branscombe and Mr George Pownall, tenors, and Mr Albert Archdeacon and Mr Herbert Hillim, basses. Musical sketches by Mr Dudley Causton will form a feature of the entertainment. The party, in its programme, will revive the ancient part songs, glees and madrigals, that are classics in English music, and will give an interpretation of some of the national musical- gems of England, Scotland, Ireland and Walea.
