THE VANCOUVER SERVICE.

The result of the negotiations over the Vancouver -service will b» known' in a few days. Sir E. Barton states that the piesent service is conducted at a loss. He holds the view that ultimately there should be a strong fast service, in which the Imperial Government and New Zealand should be^ participants, but the time is not yet ripe for such a service.
