The * Government originally, purchas* nin-e hundred acres of the Marquis of Linlithgow's land at St- Margaret's Hope. Ib has since acquired another two hundtfed acres, and will probably make further pw> chases. It is estimated that a town of forty tiaourand inhabitants "will ultimately !>• formed. It is proposed to acquire loverkeithing Bay as a harbour f or dwfcroyert and small crafts. (A message dated March 7 stated that the Admiralty had acquired a thousand acres on the north side of the Firth of Forth for the nek naval base, at a cost- of a hundred thousand pounds. The land chiefly belonged to Lord Linlithgow and Lord Rosebery. I-i-Nrfeeithing is a small town in Fife, on the north shot* of the Firth ofv.Forfch A ten miles wcsrt-nMth-ireet of Edinburgh.) '
