Tlie deceased, with a number of other lads, went up the river on Monday afternoon. On arriving at the old boatshed, the par*fcy landed, with the exception of the deceased, who remained in the canoe. When his mates returned, they found the canoe empty. A cap worn by the deceased and a paddle were floating on the water- ConstabLe M'Cormack, with a number of volunteers, * dragged the stream, and discovered the body this morning. A small boy named Willie Jackson fell off a load of hay, at Yaldhurst, yesterday, and di-located his" elbow. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
