A boy aged three years, the son of Mr Sydney Weatherley, of Rakanui^ fell into a bucket of scalding milk and died! from the injuries received. t INVEROARGILL, Jan. 19. Two men named Joseph Raven and Alfred Daplyn were drowned at Fortros© on Sunday evening. They went out in a flatbottomed punt for a row, and the punfc ewamped on the bar. Two other men who were in the boat were rescued in an exhausted condition. Tho infant daughter of Mr T. B. M'Carthy, of 'Riverton, aged twenty- one. months, was iun over, by a. trap on Saturday night and fatally injured.
