CHRISTCHURCH. •*Tho third series of local wool sales was connnenced in tho Canterbury Hall this morning. There uas a largo attendance of buyers, and bidding was brisk. Prices for ' cross-breds showed a decided advance on those' of the last sale, bufc half-breds evidenced a decline, and merinoes wero irregular, with a downward- tendency. The following was the range of prices for greasywool till the time of going to Press -.— Merino— Superior 10^d to Hid .per lb, medium to good 9d to lOil per. lb ; hal Mired— superior 9d to 9-_d per Tb, .medium l^d to 83d por lb, inferior 6d' to 7d> per Ih; crofsSbred—medium 's^l- to 6|d per lb, inferior 4£d to s{& per lb ; longwool -superior 4|d to s|d per lb ; pieces and 'hellies— im«rino 7d to 9Ad i>er lb, half-bred s^l to 7^d per lb. cnoss-bred Z_\& to 6d per lb ; locKs 2d to 44* d per lh. _^
