WELLINGTON, Jan. 16.
When the Labour paper "The Democrat." mado its appearance recently, a short lease of life was predicted for it. Ifc is now announced that the journal has suspended publication for a month, oivlhg to lack of interest taken ill it by th. Trades Unionists of the colony. A strong effort is being mad© to galvanise thh papei* into activity, but appearances nre hot Very promising, . and ifc is doubtful if it- wiU again see the light. "Tho Beadoti," a local fortnightly journal, which came into existence during the general election, is once more being published in an enlarged form. .-
