A number of unofficial members have been added to. the Legislative Chuncil of the Orange River Colony. This is a preiirtiihary step to establishing an Elective Council. • *-
The Rand's anxiety to s.e£ure Chinese labour has led the English newspapers to protest. They emphasis© the contention thafc tho new colonies will never be British Uhlfe-6 they attract a British population.
