A BUSINESS INSTITUTION.
In $r?t-class West End clubs yqu are not, of course, expected to be always (negotiating sales of mutton, tallow, diamonds or gold-mines, and in clubs frankly meant- for business purposes as well as social intercourse — as, for example, the Australasian Club — it is mot usual' for people to discuss matters for the Jjenejit of |he whole room. Tho Imperial Colonies Club proposes apparently to encourage members tp dp business inside its doors, for we are told that " every facility for communicating with the City will be provided in the shape of messengers, telephones- and 1 pther similar conveniences. The management will aim at providing more than tbe bare information sup- • plied by the tape, and all suggestions tending to enhance the commercial value of the club will bo carefully considered. In short, the -colonist who gops tp London with an eye to business as Avell as pleasure wiU be able to get! right into the heart of jt there, without encountering the delays and inconveniences which ' result, in tho first place, frpm his lack of London experience."
