-* [From Our Corresponds*^] DUNEDIN^ Dec. 23. At the general election in Dunedin City, out of a total number of 23,133 naanes on the roll, .17,404 people recorded their votes. There were 12,117 women and 11,016 men on the roll, and 8968 women, and 8436 men voted. The voters by electoral rights numbered 180. , . [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Dec. 23. Nothing further has transpired with regard to the reported petition against Mr Witheford's return. . It is stated that legal opinion has "beenobtained to the effect that th 6 Parnell election is invalid, owing to the alleged removal of 170^names.from the roll after the issue of the writ. .
