THE WEATHER.
[Fkom Oub, Cobbespondent.] ASHBURTON, Sept. 12. There was a heavy fall of snow during the night. The weather is still unsettled. The sun. came out bright and strong for a time this morning, but the atmosphere j is very cold, snow lying on the Port Hills. Early in the day a few snow flakes fell in Christchurch. The barometer still fall*. There waa snow on the hills on both sides of Lyttelton Harbour this morning, and the weather last night was exceedingly cold.
