SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
, : ♦ ■ A special meeting of the Kaiapoi, School Committee was held on Thursday evening, when there was a good attendance. The Chairman said that the meeting had been called mainly to decide what special holidays should be. allowed on account of Coronation Day,, and to arrange for tree-plant- > ing, etc. The Chairman, also read the Inspector's Teport on the last examination, which gave credit to the whole of the teaching staff. It was decided, -on the 1 motion of Messrs Ellen and Clark, that the committee's thanks should he, forwarded •• to the head-master and his staff. Letters were received and riad from the Secretary 1 of the Board of Education regarding a ■ New Zealand flag for the school.
