FIRES.
At about eight' o'clock this morning a fire broke out in an eight-roomed dwellinghouse owned by Mr G. J. Brown, and occupied by Mr J. Jones, in Selwyn Street, Addington. The building, whichwas known as the "Crown Store," was completely destroyed. It is stated that the fire was caused through a defective chimney. The insurances are :— -On the building, £200, in the Guardian Office, and on the furniture £75, in the Royal Office ; and £375 on the stock in the Alliance^ Assurance Office.
