After donning a suit of the gudeman's clothes till fois <nrn were. dry he met the oiistress on the stairs "with a big Bible in her hand, aind she, mistaking the stringer for her husband, gave him a thump on the j head with the Bible, Temanki-ng : "That's for askin' the man to stay a' nicht."
