THE LATE QUEEN OF TONGA.
[Per Pbess Association.] AUCKLAND, May 1. A letter from Tonga dated April 26, says :_ " The body of the Queen of Tonga | lies in state in the palace, and is to be interred next week at the Royal buryiag ground. The Queen was the granddaughter of Lavinia, recognised as the greatest chief of Tonga, and was only 23 years old. She was married in 1899, and leaves one. child!, Princess Salote, now two years old.
