At the Canterbury Hall to-night, the Christchurch Musical Union will render " The Messiah." The . soloists will be MdUe Antonia Dolores, Miss Alice Gray, Mr John Prouse and Mr Percival Aylmer. The burgesses of Lyttelton decided yesterday to raise a loan! of £15,000 for purchasing and extending the gasworks in the borough. The poll was taken concurrently with that for the election of Mayor, and the proposal was carried by 437 votes -to iKT.
