SUDDEN DEATH.

A SQUATTER FOUND DEAD. Mr W. M'Kay, of the Woodstock Station, fourteen miles from Oxford, was found dead at four o'clock yesterday afternoon, just inside the station gate, about two miles from the- homestead. ,He attended the O.tford market Qn Thursday, and left ac four o'clock for home in Ms trap. As he frequently. stayed . all night in the township, his non-arrival caused no alarm. His daughter, while returning from the Woodside School, saw a body lying inside the gate, but did not recognise it to be that of her fathe:*. She reported the circumstance to Mr W. Lilly,' a farmer living half, a mile away, and the latter went to the sp.St, and found Mr M'Kay 's body, with his overc#at over the head. The horse and trap- were found at the bottom of a terrace some distance away, over which they ha/1 fallen. The deceased had evidently got out ol the trap tc close the gate. There were no marks on the body to account for death. Mr M'Kay .was about sixty-five years of age. He leaves a widow, a son and two daughters.
