His body was found M eight o'clock in the evening. It is surmised that the deceased fell and got stuck in the Kilt at the bottom. He was twentyfive yea"fs of age and unmarried. Tilfnis morning a severe accident happened.at Heathcote Valley to Mr John Sowden, foreman of works to tha Lyf telton Borough Council. He had gone to the Yal\e St by ti ie 8-25 a.m. train from Lyttelton, arid was stepping out of tlie carriage, when his foot was -caught -by- -a low p<Ji<t supporting a number of signal wires, and he was... 1 thrown- .to the ground, breaking iiis right leg close; to the a-tikle. He was sent in the train to Ohristchurch, where, at the Railway ''fetation, he was. attended ito by Dr Thomas, 'who ordered his removal to the Hospital.
