CROCODILE SWIMS THE NIAGARA FALLS. For ihc Hint lime on record a living creatv.ra lias passed over Niagara Falls and co mo out alive. In the interests of. science Mr Frank C. Boslock, of menagerie fame, »tried this experiment. He .vent his 100 years old crocodile Ptolemy over the Falls. This animal is a splendid swimmer, very cautious, and has a hide as tough sis six thicknesses of sole leather. Kaily one morning he was towed out from Navy Island- and) set free. As ho passed over the mighty cataract Ptolemy was aroused out of his usual calmness. With a mighty effort he raised himself part- ]\- out of ithe water and waved 'his forearms wildly in th© air. Then he passed over the great Falls, which have the power to light the- whole of the United States of America. He had ■to fall not only 164 ft, but to go down into the tremendous holo which the water had hollowed out beneath by its age-long falling.
