Throughout Holland the four Sundays-uil November are kept as ,f ete days. They are named seveirally, Review^ Be* cision, Purchase- and Possession.' On Review Sunday everyone goes t* church, and after service there is a church! parade, when all the young men and! maidens look afc each other, but forbeaif speaking. ' On ; Decision Sunday each! would-be bene* diet approaches the maiden of Ms choica with a ceremonious bow, afflsd from b«r re- ', sponse judges whether he is acceptable as I a suitor or not. On Purchase Sunday tihe consent; of th« parents and guardians, is sought, if the woo« ing- during the w^eefc has been happy. Possession Sunday witnesses the first appearance of the» various lovers before the world as actual or prospective brides and bridegrooms.
