[Per Pkess Associatiox.] AUCKLAND, Sept, 12. At the half-yearly mee_rig of the Hibernian Society, New Zealand district No. 6, the southern Lodges were well represented. The report stated that the- funeral claimwas 1143, and the funeral fund amounted to £120, the credit balance was a.IOB, new branches had been opened at Waimate, Westport and Denniston, the membership was 1143, ther funeral fund amounted to £4514. The nominations for officers were made as follows: — President, Messrs Stead and Little ; vice-president, Mr Beeban. For the position of superintendent cf the Auckland Fire Brigade seventeen applications have been received. The committee selected four from which aai appointment will be made by the City Council. Tha four are : Woolley (Port Adelaide), Moorman (Melbourne), Heydon (Melbourne), and Bunn (Melbourne). * ,-
