They are 93ft long, 28ft 9in wide, and 6ft deep. The fodder of the dredge .is; 40ft long, arid the capacity of the .buckets is ..four cubio feet. ■ '
The Prince of Wales pontoons will be finished next week. The boiler' and engin^ are now on the claim.

DUNEDIN, July 18. The Chairman of the Dunedin Stock Exchange explains with' reference to the proposed amendment <& the .Stamp, Act thai, as the outcome of prosecutions two years ago of persons who signed blank .transfers, tie Exchange represented to Sir Joseph Ward the desirability of amending the law -to .provide for ibe issue of stamped contract' notes, as in Lpndani and Melbourne. Sir Jisepn Ward agreed' to ■take the' matter up, but nothing furffier was heard of it until lately, when the Exchange was requested, 'by tfhe Stamp" Department to (have a Bill framed. A draft Bilb was pared by the Exchange's solicitors, but. w»s set aside by the Government, and a fresh Bill waß drafted by the Crown. Solicitor in Dunedan. .
