SUCCESSFUL CANTERBURY EXHIBITORS. [FBOM OVTR COREtSPONBENT.] DUNEDIN, July 19. The judging at the . Dunedin Fanciers' Club's show was condu-dedi this morning.
The exhibit of pigeons is the same size as last year's, but the quality all round is af a higher standard. Several Christchurch breeders exhibited, arid secured a good share of the prizes. Mr A. Fraser had tihe most of the classes for long-faced tumblers to himself. He won in six classes of this breed, but was beaten in the class for black feather-legged birds. He also ■won in three selling classes. Messrs Hobbs .Bros, showed a number of dragons. They won in 'three classes, but were beaten in other colours and varieties. Messrs iMacquarrie and! Smith, were very successfuL They gained second prize for black magpies, and all . the awards ■for the red variety. They also iiad most Of the classes for short-faced tumiblera to themselves, one of 'this breed beine awarded a special prize for the best pigeon in the show. Two Chdstchurch fanciers, Mr R. W. Thompson and Mr W. Errington, sent a number of birds. Mr Thompson secured seven first prizes ana one second prize, and Mr Errington two first prizes and four seconds. ; The show of dogs is up to' the .average in Jiuntbers, but suffers.in quality,. owing to the absence of ;.. Mr Bogen's team, *h« «|)est dogs -iri 'tiKS-Kenoel being in^Meaboume-for the Mr G. Murjon . scored two first prizes for Cocker spaniels. .Mr W C' 1 Jieversedge also showed ; Gockers, gaining first prize for a black bitch under twelve months,, as well as a special for th? best Cocker in the show- ' . '
