THREE CHILDREN BURNED TO DEATH.

About one o'clock this afternoon a fourroomed cottage' about a mile from .the Lyttelton Pest Office,- occupied by a man named Frederiofe Day, was burned down, and three children — Evelyn. May, aged five years and eight months ; Frederick Thomas, aged four years and DoroJhy Maud, aged two years and seven months — were burned to death. The mother had gone out, leaving the children in the house.
