The represenitsd£ves of the Steamship Owners' Federation said itihat af the Ball was a copy of Hhe New Zealand. Act it would be a step in the wrong direction. They did not know what the effect of the law would be in New Zealand till the pendulum swung the other way, and decisions favoured employers. Mr Kingston! pronosed to give the matter ooosldeztation, but said he would stand no humbugging or delay. ■
