[From Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, May 2. At a well-attended' meeting of the Workers' Political Cojnmittee the following resolution was carried unanimously— "That this committee is of opinion that it is undesirable for New Zealand' to federate with the Commonwealth of Australia for the following reasons : (1) That this colony is self contained, and has elements and resources which go to make the country grea*;' (2) That we believe our wants, wishes and aspirations, will be best met by our interests being conserved by a full and immediate local control ; (3) That Australian members of the Commonwealth Parliament will not be able to fully understand our aspirations and sentiments; and (4) That Federation will jeopardise our workers and industries."
