: — ♦ THE PORT NICHOLSON REGATTA. i- ; [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. I The anniversary of the Wellington Province is being celebrated to-day by the observance of a general holiday. The principal event is the Port Nicholson Yacht Club's Regatta, in which interest centres in the race between the Rainbow, of Auckland, and the Waitangi, of Wellington. On the firstround of the course the Rainbow was 9min ahead of the Waitangi, and unless a mishap occurs, she must win easily. The Atlanta won the second-class race, the Siren being second. ■ j
