A MEMORABLE EVENT.
THE JUBILEE OF THE "LYTTELTON TIMES." FIFTY YEARS OF PROGRESS. To-morrow being the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the " Lyttelton Times," the proprietors intend to publish witih the commemorative number facuiiniles of the prospectus of the paper prepared in London before the departure of " the first four ships," and of the first issue printed in Lyttelton on Jan. 11, 1851. The number will also contain' a complete history of the paper, ■with many entertaining details, from its birth, down to the present day, and' a mass of interesting reminiscences by gentlemen who have been connected with its unique developmnt. The whole will form a most valuable memento of colonial journalism, and subscribers and agents who require extra copies should communicate with the Publisher to-day. A specially large edition will be printed, but it cannot be increased after the first orders have been executed.
