.^.,.,X'yl -Most of the 6hops and places of business ii in Lyttelton were closed this afternoon in r
honour of the opening of the Exhibition. The majority shut- at- noon, and the others at one o'clock. A large number of the residents went to Christchurch to witness the ceremony ; and a special train left for the city at 0.35 p.m.
