ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
— — ♦ [Per Press Association.] GISBORNE, Oct. 26. All doubts about the vessel at Hicks Bay being the Linda Weber were removed on the arrival of the cutter Coralie, whose captain stated that he recognised, the Linda Weber sailing into HicKs Bay on Sunday. It is evident that the vessel, being in a leakystate, was beached to saye her from foundering. The, Linda Weber was bmmd from Newcastle,, and carried 160. tons, of coal, "consigned to Messrs Clayton Bros. The cargo was covered by. insurance. .It is possible that if repairs bah be effected "to the vessel a portion only of the- coal will be jettisoned, and that' the schooner may bo kedged off the beach in a few days. A young man, nineteen years of age, named Frwnk ■ Ash by. was 'thrown from n •bucking horse at T^ith.field obout 4. p.m. yesterday, sustaining severe injuries to the head.
