While the transport, Maori King, with the Queensland Contingent en .board was off Madagascar, a lamp-trimmer was arrested for attempting to set fire to the vessel. The Tasmanian Contingent has leffc Capetown for the front. Mr Sauer, Minister cf Public Works, has stopped th.e pay of the railway employees who volunteered for the front.
