WAR NOTES.
A curious piece of infcrmiiion, published by a Cape paper, is that about sjx miles north of Delagoa Bay is a Beer camp of twenty-five waggons and about 300 unarmed Boers, to escape commandeering, and Avait till the war is over.
A private letter from Ladysmhh in January stated that food was at famine prices. The pries of eggs was £1 10b per doz»n. Referring to the despatch of news, he says that as much as £100 has been paid to a native runner to take news through the Botr lines to Frere. Fever was prevalent, and was causing a higher mortality than the shells. Residents were dying for a change of scene, and food that they could eat.
