THE THIRD CONTINGENT.
[iTER .TRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, Feb. 9. A great patriotic demonstration took place at tie Brough Company's performance last evening. The Hawke's Bay section of the Third Contingent were present as the guests ci the Hawke's Bay Club. During the interval Mr C. D. Kennedy sang "The Absent-Minded Beggar," and upwards of £18 was thrown on the stage. This amount was supplemented by Mr Brough by £10. At the close of the performance the audience sang "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem with vigour, and hearty cheers were given for the contingent.
