ACCIDENTS AND NATALITIES.
THE WELLINGTON BOAT ACCIDENT. [Per Press Association.] : WELLINGTON, Sept, 21. At the inquest touching the death of Mrs Loxton, a verdict of accidentally drowned through falling from a. boat, was returned. The evidence disclosed no new facts. The oVner of the boat and other witnesses said that they regarded it as a safe craft in competent hands, the former ,« stating that it had been in constant use for some time without any., mishap occurring. The .only theory the owner of the boat could suggest to account for the accident was that Mrs Loxton had stood up to put on her husband's covert coat, and the boat giving a lurch, the husband had jumped to her assistance, with the result thait they Avere both precipitated into the Avater. Mrs Loxton was only twenty-one years of age. Loxton, whose body has not yet been found, w^s for a time employed in Westpbrt and Blenheim. ......On Wednesday night, as Mr "J. Wallace was driving a trap from ' Governor's Bay the vehicle got oft' the road on the Christ church ■ side of -Dyer's! r Pass; Mi' Wallace cut -the harness, freed the horse, and managed to get down lull as far as Mr Cole's house, Avhere he. was attended by. Dr Moorhouse, Avho found that Mr Wallace had dislocated his shoulder.
