Sir Alfred Milner has announced that it ■would be a breach of international law for tho Orange Free State to compel aliens to fight. A force of a thousand men is being enrolled at Kimberley to protect the town. Fourteen guns belonging to the Transvaal have arrived near Laing's Nek.
