COLLIE DOG TRIALS AT CASH MERE.

THIRD DAY. The third day of the trials opened in splendid weather, and bright sunshine. Shortly after nine the last dog worked in the heading, bringing back and yarding competition, -which resulted as follows : — HEADING, BRINGING BACK AND YARDING, about 350 yds. Time — 15min. Points — Heading 5, under command 7, bringing back 5, yarding 6, style 7; total 30 points. J. Armstrong's Chance, 5, 7, 5, 5, 5—27 . 1 R. R. Pollock's Chance, 5, 7, 5, 5, 5—27 . 2 A. M'Leod's Corbie, 5, 7, 3, 5, 5—25 . . 3 G. Lang's Billy, 5, 6, 4, 5, 4—24 . . 4 C. E. Lewis's Dash, 5, 6, 3, 5, 4—23 . .5 R. Fraser's Foil, 3, 5, 5, 4, 4—22 . 6 The paddock competition and the heading and bringing back and holding competition were then started together in different paddocks, and will not be got through to-da^r. A good deal of interesting work was done in both competitions, the paddock trials causing considerable excitement amongst the spectators, all the work being close at hand. Up to 1 p.m. not one of the fifteen dogs which had worked in the heading, bringing back and holding competition had got the sheep into the ring, the course being a very stiff on© on the face of a steep hill broken with rocks. The competitions will be continued on Monday,, and will' probably conclude on Tuesday af ternooii. There was a large crowd of visitors in the afternoon.
