The Canterbury Land. Board met- on•Thursday; present — -Messrs Sidney. Weet^ n?an (Commissioner oi Grown Lards), R. Meredith, M.H.R., D. M'Millan, .A.- C. '■■Pfingle and J. M'Lachlan. Leave of absencs duiing the ensuing session of- Parliament was granted to Mr Meredith. The following applications for land, were granted: — Benjamin Brooks, Section. 7, Block VII., Morven Township,. 2r 22p •„ Charles Blyth, Section 15, Harmer Plains Village, 14a 2r 25p ; W. T. Robinson, Seatior. 3, .Block XIII., Mackenzie Township,. 1 rocd. A report was leceived from the Crown Lands Ranger en the wcrking cf the Waiau.Bush section, Cheviot, held under, sawmill -license by Messrs Fraser Bros, and H. D. Leaman. It 1 was decided to call upon. Mr Leaman, under Clause 35 of. the Forest Regulations, to work his area in a propeu- manner.. It was resolved to have all unsold : and cunlet lands in the South RakaiafCownahip ed and grouped, withi a view to their jbeirig offered for lease for terms of seven years. On the appEUcation, of the: Temuka Road Board, it waa.^agreed to re^ commend that a. section 1 of 6at;2r adjoining Reserve 1071, Block' IV., Pateora Survey District, should be set apartr and vested hr the Board for plantation '■ proposes.' TKe Mayor of Waimate applied foF-a list of unsuccessful applicants for sections -on the Waikakahi Settlement, and ifcwas decided " to approve of a list being furnished tohini. With regard to the Mackenzie County Plantation Reserves, it was decided to approve' of a lenewal of Mr W. Grant's tenancy of Reserve 2916, at a reduced, rental 'of £25 " per annum. The renewal of the following tenancies was approved, the tenants •- having accepted the terms offered by the Board : - — Malcolm M'Leod, Reserve 2917; Murrayand Thomas, Reserve- ■- 2918 ; Ayidrfewl'Cowan, Reserves 2919 and 2950J New" Zealand Loan and Mercantile' Agency C&nir pany, Reserves ' 2920 and 2921 ; DV Bahi, Reserves 2922 and 2959 ; -WTSaunders, Reserves 2924, 2925 and 2926?
