. T-^— »<_ ... ! The fortnightly meeting of St John's .Literary Association was held last night in 'the schoolroom. There- were thirty-five members present. The sylliibus for the evening was readings and recitations. There were a good many contribuflibnsj, some of which were freely -criticised". . The Secretary, Mr R. J; Hobbs, onbehalf of the members, presented' Miss Watson with * ]iandsome silver tea-pot, suitably- engraved, and half-a-dozen- afternoon teasp«KH»s> vrith sugar ■ tongs, in connection with her approaching marriage. The Rev H r . C. M. Watson ri_ speeded" on behalf of hi* daughter.
