In connection with a request of the Malvern Road Board, asking to be allowed to pay arrears due fov Hospital and Charitable Aid contributions by instalments, it was resolved to reply that the Council having paid' the monev, it' must be repaid at once. The City Counc'l wrote asking if the Council had anv objection to water being, taken from the Waimakariri Gorge for the purpose of supplying water nower for lighting Christchurch by electricity. It was resolved to reply that as soon asthe plans, etc.. for tbe necessary works wereforwarded to the County Council, it wouhf consider the matter. After dealing with routine matters, and transacting business in connection witb plantations and water races and passing accounts to the amount of £11-04 7s 4d, the Council rose. • . -
