SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
At- an ordinary meeting of the Richmond School Committee, held last evening, Miss Alice Osbome, of the East Oxford School, aud a former pupil of the Richmond School, "■as appointed second mistress, caused by the resignation of Miss Lucy Howard. The committee passed a resolution asking the Board of Education in future, when a vacitEcy occurs in the teaching staff, to forward the names of all candidates which the Appointments Committee thinks qualified for the position. The newly-elected Hornby School Commiltee mot on May 12; present — Messrs f.'lnrkson (chairman), Piper, Carr, Humm, r.urt and Kinross. The master reported number on roll 54 boys and 71 girls ; total 125 ; highest number present 104. Several acrounts were passed for payment.
