ADPINGTON YARDS.

THIS DAY. [Per the " Star's " Pigeox Express.] To-day being a double market at Addington, there being no sale next week, entries in most classes of stock were large, and there was a very good attendance. Business in all the fat departments was brisk. The feature of the market was undoubtedly the laree yarding of fat lambs, some extremely wellflnished lines convrig forward. The 258 head of fat cattle were mostly good sorts, and met fair competition^ if anything, prices being slightly firmer, without any appreciable. ad T yanoe in. price. Good to prime beef brought from 17s to 18s 6d per 1001 b, medium to good 15s to 16s 9d, and caw and. inferior, sorts 12s 6d to 14s 63. ; Per head, steers brought from £5 to £7 15s, ordinary to good heifers £4 to £7, and up to £8 10s for extra prime, [ cows £4 to £7 10s. Ynrdings of store cattle and dairy cows are fair, but there is nothing of extra good quality. The entry of fat sheep is a rather mixed one, containine f. few T>ens of extra heavy- weights from the North Island and some fair lines of freezing sheep, the bulk. being butchers' ewes, but the F.-'e had not commenced when our express left.' Freezing buyers seemed very to secure all the best lambs for the Hem-' market, and this cmised a further rise i« air.' prime sets, wh'ch, brought up to ?,0s for a l>n° of 60. while another line of close o" 1000 brought" from 16s tr> 16« 7d, ""d of about. 500 fnvn 15s 8/1 V> Ifcs ad.
