THE TASMANIA.
Mr J. M. Arundel, who recently descended in a diver's dress to the wreck of the s.s.. Tasmania, told the shareholders of the Belk Patent Rights Company at Palmerston that the vessel was in good order, standing upright, and he was thoroughly satisfied she was in capital trim. Her machinery did not appear to have been affected by the immersion, and the winches and other machinery on the deck seemed as good as the day she went down. He had interviewed the engineer of the Westralfta, and had learnt that it was notlikely the machinery would be much the worse if it was attended to directly the steamer was raised.
