METHVEN COLLIE CLUB.

The annual collie trials of the Methven Collie Club were held on Tuesday and Wednesday. The weather ou tho first day was cold and unpleasant, but ou the second it was very enjoyable. There was a good attendance cm both days, Alford Fpnest, as usual, sending a largo contingent. The entries in all classes were good, and in the first three there were very few absentees. Several dogs were withdrawn on the second day, which enabled the programme to be concluded in good time. Mr D. Fraser, of Shepherd's Bush, judged throughout. Following wero the results:—.

Heading and Bringing Back— Mr W. ■Wright's Corbie was placed first, Mr E. M'Lennau'a I'yko second, and Mr C. J, Johnsum's Flora tiiii'd.

Heading^ Bringing Back and Yarding— This event was not iinisued the first day, six dogs haying to run on the second day. The first prize again fell to Corbie, who' did <^ co^ lent -work at the hurdles, placing his sheep in 7min ; Mr A. M'Farlano's Doll was a good second, yarding the sheep in Gimin: Mr J. S. Weir's Tweed was third. Heading and Bringing Back, for dogs under eighteen months— Only four out of the nine entered came forward, and of these C. J. Johnston's Jet was the only one that succeeded in getting to the aheep, and was awarded first prize. Hunt Away, with Slew—None of the dogs succeeded in getting through all the fl n §s and reaching the last post. & T F J. Johnston's Fly got through all tlle flags, but could not reach the post in time - Mr G. Evans's Glen went close to the second flag, but on the wrong side, got the sheep through the third flags, and just reached the post when time was called Mr J. S. Weirs Roy got his sheep through the first and second, flags. Fly was awarded first pn ze > Glen second and Roy third Driving Five Sheep Throneh Two Sets of Hurdles, and Yarding— Mr W. Wrights Corbie did his work quietly and expeditiously, having his sheep safely, paniied in smin 19sec..Mr C. J, Johnston's Flora »P d M ? J. H.
