BOWLING.
THIS DAY. Following the draw, the tournament of the New Zealand Bowling Association was continued at an early hour at both greens this morning: The day was perfect, and the condition of the greens had been improved by the heavy shower of the previous night. Following are the results : — CHAMPION SINGLES. Third Bound. — E. Harraway beat Gilmour, 14 to 13: Fourth Round.— Tumbull 15eat Evans, 13 to 12; Carswell beat Raphael, 20 to 17; Manning beat Nalder, 13 to 11 ; Keast beat E. Harraway, 16 to 13. CHAMPION RINK TOURNAMENT, i Semi-finals. Canterbury v. Taieri.— Canterbury— E. C. Ashby, P. Hyndman, Captain Coleman, J. M. 1 Taylor (skip), v. Taieri— W. Tumbull, A. DickI son, T. Mackie, W. Carswell (skip). At seven heads the scores were — Taieri 7, Canterbury i; at fourteen heads— Taieri 12, Canterbury 8 : at twenty-one heads— Taieri 18, Canterbury 17. This. was a most keenly contested game, the adroit driving of Carswell being responsible for most of the early points of the game. The Canterbury men, however; played well together, nnd though luck was against them in only being able to mark singles in their first score of 9, they only lost by one point after a hard up-hill contest. It was a, noticeable fact that the -winners only scored at eight heads out of the twenty-one.. . Christcnurch v. Dunedin.— ChnstchurchyA. Louisson, H. tt. Nalder, A. v. B. Bishop, W. Barnett (skip), v. Dunedin-J. Gilmour, W. Cowic, W. M'llwrick. A. Gillies (skip). At seven heads the scores were— B all; at fourteen heads— Dunedin 16, Christchurch 11; at twenty-one heads— Christchurch 19, Dunedin 18. As will bo judged from the scores the contest was remarkably keen. A somewhat lucky iiead towards the close of the game, m which the Christchurch team scored 3, appeared to disorganise their opponents, who, however, only lost by the narrowest possible margin.
