♦ THURSDAY'S WEATHER. Fnosr Observations Takex at 9 a.m. The barometric range was from 30. (H in the north to 29.72 in the south, while the temperature in the shade ranged from V'Odeff down to 54deg ; Christchurch 57dcg. Light southerly winds prevailed, and the weather was generally fine. The sea was reported to be heavy at Castlopoint ; moderate to smooth elsewhere. At Christchurch the barometer was steady.
