[Peb Prrss Association.! INVERCARGILL, Nov. 25. A case of interest to publicans was before Mr Poynton. S.M., to-day. Richnr,d Blackball, hotelkeeper, was charged with selling beer after hours. The defence was that the liquor consumed was cider, and, as counsel for Blackhaui refused to agree to the information being amended, the Magistrate disi missed the case. The police kid a fresh" , charge of selling cider, and the defendantwas fined 3Qs and cost 3, and his license was ; endorsed. In a case brought by the Acclimatisation Society, the Magistrate ruled that a single ! river license did not confer the right to tish in tributaries of the stream, and imposed a , fine, including costs, of £2 9s. s - Over six hundred fishing licenses have been » issued- this season by the Southland Actlir matisation, Society. ; ' The spring in, the'south.has "been 'very back--5 ward, but "during the last 'few days summer weather has been experienced.
