MR THOMAS HENRY BONE.

An old colonist passed away yesterday* in the person of Mr Thomas Henry Bone, who died at his residence, Ke'dcliffs, Suniner Road, at the age of fifty-nine years, after a somewhat protracted illness. Mr Bone was born in Hampshire, England, and came out to Auckland in 1863, wheie he served amongst the Volunteers in the Maori war. He came to Canterbury in 1865, and for three years managed Mr "William Pratt's branch, of Dunstable House in Lyttelton. About 1870 he went into business on his own account as a draper, in Victoria Street, Christchurcb, afterwards removing to Cashel Street. In 1878 he went to England, where he intended to settle, but soon tiring of the lifo there he returned to New Zealand, and again went into business in Christchurch. About four years ago he gave up business owing to failing health, and since that time he has led a more or less retired life. The funeral will take place at the Linwood Cemetery on Saturday afternoon.
