FRIDAY'S WEATHER, From Observations Taken at 9 a.m. The barometric readings were slightly higher in north, as compared with the previous day, and a, little lower in the south, the extreme range being 30.24 at Kaipara Heads and 29.75 at Invercargill. Wind, light and variable. No rain was reported, the sky being clear blue, with more or less cloudy intervals. There was a h.eavy sea at Cape Maria van Diemen and at Cape Egmont, and at Greymouth the bar was rough. The temperature in the shade ranged from 70deg in the north to 60 in the south. At Christchurch. the barometer was falling slightly. • h
